A vague bit of the what and the why:
It’s always been art. I started drawing portraits as a teenager because they just came naturally to me. Now, at the age of twenty-four, I still gravitate towards depictions of the human body and condition of being. My creative works live somewhere between the realms of naturalism and surrealism. Expression, for me, is an endeavor of asking and answering the intangibles. The process starts with a visual or a phrase that comes on like a persistent itch. The progression of my paintings is a product of instinct, straight from the gut and the heart, and the meaning comes last, if ever. There is always a purpose, which sometimes escapes meaning, but that always means to evoke some royal ‘because’. I welcome conversations regarding the more specific meaning of my work— reach out through my email or social media for inquiries!
